The warm, welcoming and friendly group at Oak Bay's Penny Farthing Olde English Pub have made it a social meeting place since the day it opened. Neighbors connect with neighbors and visitors discover friends; 'The Penny' kind of defines what a pub is: it's a place to meet. There were two couples sitting at a table and they got to chatting. They'd lived three houses apart for the past 11 years, but they had never talked until they came and sat in the pub, had a pint and had a meal! The three fireplaces in the pub provide a warm and cozy atmosphere for people to come together and enjoy engaging conversation, fantastic food and a great pint.
